Here’s what it’s like to bike 207 miles in one day… on a Brompton folding bike.
Last weekend, Cascade Bicycle Club hosted its annual Seattle-to-Portland (STP) bike ride. Local Youtuber Best Side Cycling tackled the ride in one day on a Brompton and documented the whole experience. The video is a great introduction to the quintessentially Cascadian ride, which is in its 46th year. Cascade offers the 207-mile ride in either a one-day or two-day form. Most riders use road bikes, but Best Side used a small-tired folding Brompton to add an extra challenge.
In true Portland-fashion, a big crowd of bike enthusiasts were waiting at the finish line in Holladay Park to cheer on the riders finishing the race. Watch out for the ride next summer if you’d like to take on the challenge yourself.
