The Urbanist Meetups Are Back on Third Thursdays, Starting February 15

Urbanist Staff - February 05, 2024
After years of virtual meetups, The Urbanist is getting back to regular in person social events starting this month. (Ryan Packer)

We are excited to announce that The Urbanist’s monthly in-person meetups are back after a too-long pandemic hiatus. With a regular time and transit-accessible location, we are ready to resume our monthly gatherings of city enthusiasts, urban advocates, and industry professionals. Please note that although Stoup is a brewery, it’s an all-ages space (they even have a small play area for kids)!

What: Urbanist Monthly Meetups
When
: Third Thursdays from 5:30-7pm, starting February 15
Where:
Stoup Capitol Hill, 1158 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122
Stop:
Broadway & E Union Street (use the 2, 11, 49, or the First Hill Streetcar) or a short walk from Capitol Hill Station

Stoup Brewing’s Capitol Hill location at Broadway and E Union will host our monthly meetups until further notice. (Google Maps)

Urbanist meetups are a great opportunity to network, learn, and share ideas with likeminded folks. Whether you’re interested in transportation, housing, public space, sustainability, equity, or even if you’re new to urbanism, we invite you to join us. We promise we’ll always be hospitable, accessible, and thoughtful. Drop by to chat with some of your favorite contributors at The Urbanist.

The meetups will be held on the third Thursday of every month, starting on February 15th. They will be at Stoup Capitol Hill (formerly Optimism Brewing), a spacious all-ages brewery with a variety of beers, snacks, and often a food truck. Again, please note that although Stoup is a brewery, it’s an all-ages space (they even have a small play area for kids)!

The meetups will start at 5:30pm and end around 7, though you’re invited to hang out longer if you’d like. There is no formal agenda or presentation, though we hope to often invite those involved in recent Urbanist articles and activities. You can drop by anytime and stay as long as you want. And, of course, feel free to invite friends and colleagues who might be interested as well.

See you soon!
