Vote Yes on 2022 Seattle and Tacoma Public School Levies

Editorial Board - February 07, 2022

Ballots for the 2022 Seattle Public Schools (SPS) Capital Levy are due tomorrow, Tuesday, February 8th. To be accepted, they must postmarked or deposited in a dropbox by that date.

Tacoma Public Schools also has a public school levy with ballots due on the 8th as well, and according to a local source, it’s more in peril than Seattle’s since Seattle voters have a history of passing school levies.

However, in both cases let’s not take the voters’ goodwill for granted. If you’re a registered voter in Seattle or Tacoma, make sure to vote yes on propositions 1 and 2. Voting yes helps ensure that elementary, middle, and high school students are able to learn in safe, healthy buildings and have access to support services and after-school programs. Seattle’s capital levy also includes $18 million for climate solutions, which is a first for the district.
